Writers use an awful lot of resources.  Here are some friendly reminders about our responsibilities to our planet:

• Clear out the clutter, junk mail, plastic bags, and old clothing.

• Don't use harmful pesticides in your garden.

• Clean your home and office with nontoxic, green cleaning products.  

• Don't even think about littering!

• Use cloud storage for your files (or something better.)

• Submit your work electronically to publishers.

• Turn off the lights before you leave a room.

• Turn off your computer at night.

• Save trees by purchasing a Kindle or Nook.

• Recycle printer ink cartridges and unwanted books.

• Support eco-friendly organizations.

• Use print-on-demand services.

• Reuse paper on both sides, if possible.

• Plant a tree and/or donate to a tree-planting organization.
